Kisser makes LA debut at Sid The Cat Auditorium with Buck Meek

Kisser is entering the Los Angeles scene with the kind of energy that might remind musicians why they started a band in the first place.

Made up of Buck Meek, Luke Temple, Germaine Dunes, Jeffertitti, and Jesse Quebbeman-Turley, the band made its LA debut at the Sid the Cat Auditorium on March 12 before spending the rest of the month supporting Buck Meek on a European tour.

Kisser’s sound and energy is aggressive but playful – pulling in krautrock, metal-inspired breakdowns, a progressive punk feel, and chant-like lyrics. Onstage, this comes through with a refreshing sense of freedom and play, due in no small part to lead singer Germaine Dunes’ unpretentious magnetism.

The result is a band that pairs serious musicianship with genuine enjoyment. Kisser feels alive, loose, and locked in at once – a rare combination, and one that makes them a group worth watching.

Keep up with the band here.
